Marching down The Mall towards Buckingham Palace is a tremendous experience and Bodicote did so for a second time in 1996. The Parade was to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen's 70th Birthday and included numerous other Youth Bands from around the country. As in the Music Day Parade of 1992 the event started from Horseguards Parade and made its way down The Mall to Buckingham Palace then returned to Horseguards via Birdcage Walk.
The Band again provided interval entertainment at the Birmingham International Tattoo and were very well received especially on the night it was announced that the Lead Drummer was celebrating his 18th birthday.
In the band contest world 1996 was very successful the Band being awarded a total of 24 trophies for their performances. Of the 3 regional contests entered the Band was placed 1st overall in each and at the TYMBA National Championships they were awarded 3rd overall with individual 1st place awards in Percussion, Non-Valved Wind and Tuned Percussion.
